How the pictures are made
From your photo to a painted storybook
Every book starts as a story we have written and pictures we have painted. Your photo is only used to paint your child into them.
1. The story and the pictures come first
We write each story and paint every page in our soft watercolour style before anyone orders it. We check each book page by page, so the characters, colours and little details stay the same all the way through.
2. Your child is painted in
You add a photo. Our painting software turns your child into a storybook character in the same style, then paints them into each page, keeping their hair, skin tone, glasses and freckles, and making them look their age. You see the cover and the first pages free, before you pay.
3. Every page is checked
After you order, every page is checked to make sure your child looks like themselves, nobody is missing and nothing is out of place. A page that is not right is painted again. If something still needs a look, a person checks it before your book is sent. Books for difficult times are always checked by a person.
